Hedda studied her Bachelor in Geography, as well as her Master in Environmental Geography and Management at the CAU Kiel. During her studies, Hedda specialized on coastal systems and socio-economic development at the coast. She started working as a student assistant in the Coastal Risk and Sea Level Rise working group in 2020 and proceeded her career in the CRSLR group in 2023 as a doctoral researcher. In her PhD, Hedda explores the spatial dynamics of population development as a driver of vulnerability to coastal hazards. She is currently involved in the CoCliCo project, where she is developing projections of coastal population distribution in Europe under different socio-economic development scenarios using spatial modelling methods.
